Local Area:
Deep within the Vale of Kerry, the small village or Sarn is centrally located in Wales and is also close to the border of Shropshire. Known as the Marches, this scenic region is steeped in history. The nearby village of Kerry, with its shop and two pubs - one of which serves food - is a popular spot for walkers and cyclists. The Kerry Ridgeway, a 15 mile route through the hills, offers lovers of the outdoors to explore the countryside and provides remarkable views of up to 70 miles in all directions on a clear day. The castles at Montgomery and Powys, in addition to the medieval towns of Bishops Castle, Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Machynlleth, make wonderful places to visit, as do the National Parks at Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons. The area also offers easy access to Offa's Dyke, steam railways and the stunning Cardigan Bay coastline - all under an hour's drive away.
