Local Area:
Isle of Whithorn is a pretty village with a harbour on the very southern tip of the Machars Peninsula. It has a long seafaring history, which stretches back to the Vikings and in the present day, the harbour is used by leisure boats and those fishing for crabs and lobsters. There is a variety of historic sites in the village. Wigtown, Scotland's first book town, is a short drive away, while golf courses and beaches can be found in the area.
