The charming village of Harome is on the southern edge of the North York Moors. It has the requisite village pond and green with old stone cottages along the main street. Harome has two pubs, both serving good food and one of them sells local produce to visitors and residents alike. For more shops and other amenities, Helmsley is only three miles away and is a delightful market town complete with a 12th Century castle. Duncombe Park is on the outskirts of the town and is a magnificent restored house surrounded by landscaped gardens and parkland, much of it a National Nature Reserve. York, Pickering and Kirkbymoorside are all within easy reach and with the stunning countryside and a wealth of attractions, this is a marvellous area for a holiday.
