Outside there is off road parking for six cars and an enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture. The village offers two pubs, 18th century stone cottages and a market cross set in the village green. Within easy reach are the stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, plus within driving distance is Alton Towers.
