The charming village of Orton is situated close to the Lake District National Park. The village centre has a 16th century church, village green, pub serving food, a Post Office/shop and a chocolate shop and tearoom, and there are rolling countryside and beautiful scenery in the area. Within driving distance are Kendal, Sedbergh and Appleby-in-Westmorland, as well as Haweswater lake and the Eden Valley.
