Local Area:
Kingsdown is a quiet Kent village close to the shingle beach of St Margaret's Bay. There are three pubs serving food, a local butcher with delicatessen, a general store, PostOffice and hairdresser. The village is situated at the northern end of the famous White Cliffs of Dover, with the beaches and cliffs around Kingsdown part of the Site of Special Scientific Interest that stretches south to Folkestone. Close by are the coastal towns of Deal, Dover and Broadstairs, offering the visitor castles, museums, heritage, history and quaint tea room. Inland, Canterbury offers a popular day out, with its cathedral, Roman remains and excellent shopping centre.
