The charming village of Braithwaite is set in a stunning location between the magnificent northern lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. The beautiful Newlands Valley is situated between Braithwaite and Buttermere, whilst picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw, walkers of all abilities are catered for in this diverse location. Visitors will enjoy a trip to Mirehouse - a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake with an open-air theatre, as well as trips around the lake.
