Local Area
:

The popular seaside village of Rhosneigr lies on the stunning west coast of Anglesey, famous for spectacular cliffs and expansive sandy beaches. The village has a rich and varied history that encompasses tales of smugglers, a 6th Century church, off-shore shipwrecks and as a fashionable holiday destination during the Edwardian era. Today the main draw is still its stunning sandy beaches that offer a safe haven for bathers and water sports enthusiasts, providing some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing in the UK. Other activities include fishing, sailing, sand yachting, wreck diving and golf as well as being a perfect resort for families looking for a traditional seaside holiday. The village has several pubs, restaurants and shops and for further amenities the market towns of Llangefni and Holyhead (the starting point for day-trips to Dublin), and the city of Bangor are within easy travelling distance. Further afield on the island you will find Pili Palas Butterfly Farm, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Beaumaris Castle. Boat trips around Puffin Island offer the chance to see nesting puffins and guillemots, or cross to the mainland and enjoy Victorian Llandudno's shopping, restaurants and dry-ski slope.
