The traditional Norfolk village of Snettisham is characterized by the pretty golden brown houses – known locally as “gingerbread houses” due to the colouring of the local iron-rich carr stone used in their construction. The village has a number of convenient amenities including general stores, welcoming inns, good restaurants, a Post Office, a butcher's and a regular bus service to the family-friendly seaside resort of Hunstanton and King's Lynn. There is plenty for all the family here, including Park Farm on the edge of the village, a working farm with year-round activities. An RSPB bird sanctuary is a mile away, and the historic Peddars Way public footpath provides lovely walking near to the village. The impressive house, church and gardens of the Royal Estate of Sandringham are nearby, and just follow your nose to find Norfolk Lavender, England's premier lavender farm, with its charming tearooms and gift shop.
