The former Saxon settlement of Hawarden is steeped in history, being located on the Anglo-Welsh border, and has seen its share of trouble throughout history. Hawarden is a former thriving 19th century market town and many traces of its history can still be seen in the architecture along the main street through the village, which offers a selection of cafes and pubs. With excellent access to Chester and along the North Wales coast, this is an ideal base.
