Denbigh dates back to the 11th century and boasts the remains of a 13th century castle, perched on a steep hill above the town and commanding some superb views over the surrounding countryside. The Snowdonia National Park is a short drive, with its stunning lakes, mountains, walking and cycling, while the Lleyn Peninsula and excellent beaches on the Isle of Anglesey are ideal for a day trip.
