Local Area:
Situated in Wharfedale, the village of Burnsall is set on a bend in the River Wharfe and is framed by the dramatic backdrop of Burnsall Fell. The 12th century church is considered to be the oldest construction in the village whilst the school is thought to be one of the oldest in Britain. The traditional Dales bridge with its five stone arches is another interesting feature of the settlement and is one of the town's most renowned landmarks. The surrounding countryside features a number of walks through the area, making it a wonderful place to stay whilst exploring the Dales. Local amenities include a small shop selling sweets and ice-cream as well as various essential goods, a pub with hotel, and a tea-room. Nearby Grassington and Skipton offer a wider range of amenities and Burnsall's river 'beach' is just a few minutes' walk away.
