The village of Melvich is located on the north coast of Scotland near the mouth of the River Halladale and is set in the rolling and open space of Sutherland known as 'Mackay Country'. At the head of the bay is Melvich Beach, a beautiful and unspoilt stretch of golden sand and a popular venue for surfing. Melvich has a village shop and post office as well as a village inn with a restaurant.
