Ivy Barn Cottage, Clive, Heart Of England (Ref 1728)
Holiday Cottages

CLIVE , Shropshire , England , SY4 3LA

Sleeps: 4 , Rating: 4 , D Price Band 2014

Ivy Barn, as its name suggest, was originally a barn, built from traditional Grinshill sandstone. It has been lovingly restored to provide accommodation for groups of up to 4 people. Many of the barn’s original features have been incorporated into the conversion, such as oak beams, stone-slated floors and a wood-burning stove. All the accommodation is spread out over one floor and French windows from the sitting room lead to a small, charming garden; perfect for enjoying a spot of outdoor-dining in the summer months. Off-road parking for 2 cars is available, but the local shop is a short stroll away and the local pub is just over a mile away. This timber clad, barn conversion cottage with woodburning stove for 4 people is situated in the small village of Clive which is 9 miles from the historic market town of Shrewsbury in Shropshire.

Local Area
:

Clive is a small village located around the west side of Grinshill Hill. Grinshill Hill is a local beauty spot and there is a nearby mine from which the Grinshill sandstone was excavated to be used in building the village of Clive. Attractions are wide and varied in this part of Shropshire and there is plenty for outdoor-types, such as walking and cycling. If you prefer to take things a bit easier, but still want to enjoy the stunning scenery, a boat-trip on the Severn will relax and inspire you. The nearby village of Wroxeter pays testament to the region’s historic past, having uncovered a myriad of Roman artefacts, such as the magnificent Roman Baths. There is even a Roman vineyard which still produces wine for sale to the public.
