Intake Cottage is a delightful stone built, 17th Century cottage which was part of an original farmhouse, located between the Swaledale villages of Low Row and Gunnerside. The cottage has one double bedroom leading onto a twin room which makes it ideal for young families. There is also a family bathroom, a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and an open fire. Outside the cottage is an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ with off road parking for one car. Intake Cottage has been beautifully renovated and makes a fabulous base for exploring this part of the Yorkshire Dales. Local Area:
The village of Low Row is made up of a scattering of traditional farms and cottages to the north of the River Swale. The village of Reeth, just a short drive away, dates back to Saxon times and became of sufficient size and importance to be mentioned in the Domesday Book. Later it became a centre for hand-knitting and local lead mining. Its eighteenth-century houses and hotel clustered around the triangular village green make it one of the very popular Dales villages. Just short drives away are Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft).
