Grantown on Spey is situated in the centre of the Scottish Highlands and is only 12 miles from Aviemore. It is a traditional Highland town on the River Spey, located on the northern edge of the outstanding Cairngorms National Park, which is recognised as a Special Area of Conservation. The town itself is surrounded by Anagach Woods - ancient Scots Pine woodlands, which offer a unique habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. The woods date back to 1766, have way marked trails and there is walking for all abilities.
