Originally developed to be part of the ferry crossing to Dundee in the 12th century, the lovely coastal town of Newport-on-Tay is now a fashionable suburb of Dundee for commuters. History lovers will also enjoy finding out about the Bronze Age cemetery, discovered by archaeological excavations in the area, which has been dated back to around 1700 to 2000 BC.
