Berwick and the castle and gardens at Alnwick are a short drive away. There are many visitor attractions nearby including Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Bamburgh village offers wide, sandy beaches and Bamburgh Castle, which dominates this area of the coastline and can be seen for miles. The family of the great Victorian industrialist, Lord Armstrong, still resides in the castle, and visitors can explore this dramatic fortress. The pretty stone cottages, pristine village green, good pubs and restaurants and welcoming atmosphere make Bamburgh village an ideal destination for a relaxing break.
