Dunmore is situated 10 miles north east of Tuam, and has its own fascinating original fort and early 17th century stone castle as well as the ruins of an Augustian Abbey on the Eastern side of town. This area is the ideal base from which to tour Galway and Mayo, with incredible sunsets, bird watching and walking all a feature of this lovely location. Every summer the town hosts the Dunmore festival with lively pub events, children's fancy dress, pavement art, treasure hunts, and lots of fun for all the family.
