Situated at the western end of Loch Leven, the peaceful village of Glencoe is composed of a scattering of houses and a lovely inn offering excellent food and refreshments. This popular spot for hill-walkers, climbers and holidaymakers is surrounded by rich, open countryside and boasts a variety of activities including many great walking opportunities and an abundance of wildlife. There is a National Trust Visitor Centre which tells the ancient history of the area whilst trips across the Ballachulish Bridge to nearby Fort William are also very enjoyable. Visitors can follow the coastal route south along the shores of Loch Linnhe to Kinlochlaich Gardens, enjoy a trip to Barcaldine Castle or call in at the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary, where rescued seals are nursed back to health before being returned to the wild.
