The old lead mining town of Pateley Bridge is in Nidderdale and although not technically in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the area has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The main street has a wide range of shops and there are charming little alleyways just waiting to be explored. The town is noted for its prize-winning floral displays and is always a delight to wander through. Pateley Bridge has fabulous craft workshops and the Nidderdale Museum gives visitors a glimpse into past life. A plaque in the high street marks the start and finish of the Nidderdale Way, a 53-mile round walk that takes in the stunning landscapes of this beautiful area. With plenty of attractions and fantastic walking opportunities, this area is marvellous for a holiday.
