The spectacular Ochil Hills are the backdrop for Alloa, on the north bank of the River Forth. Alloa is the main town in Clackmannanshire, and is located within easy reach of Stirling, aka the 'Gateway to the Highlands'. Stirling is home to a number of visitor attractions, including Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and Blair Drummond Safari Park, all of which are a great draw for visitors to the area. Alloa Tower, Castle Campbell and the migratory bird haven of Gartmorn Dam are all located within the surrounding area, and the nearby Ochil Hills offer off-road cycling, horse riding, golf and fishing. Culross, The Falkirk Wheel, Dunfermline Abbey, and the famous golf courses at Gleneagles are all also within easy reach.
