Louisburgh boasts three Blue Flag beaches, Old Head, Bertra and Carramore, which makes this area ideal for family holidays. The mountains of Sheaffrey and Mweelrea are nearby and Clare Island can be reached by ferry from Roonagh Pier. Clare Island is one of the inhabited islands in Clew Bay and on a clear day there are magnificent views across to Connemara and Achill.
